Op 5 mei hebben Simon Bijlsma en ik een aantal uurtjes pointing metingen kunnen doen. In die tijd hebben we 14 pointings op CasA kunnen doen, en een heleboel uitleg aan het hek gegeven: een draaiende DT op zo'n mooie lentedag trekt heel veel bekijks.

VERON at the European Parliament amateur radio exhibition

The Netherlands society VERON is one of the European Societies taking part in he Amateur Radio exhibition at the European Parliament April 26-30

VERON will be represented by Dick Fijlstra PA0DFN, Arie Koning, Andries oone PA0ABY and Remy FG Denker PA3AGF.

At our past quarterly meeting  (Dwingeloo, 20 March 2010), Cornelis de Boer gave us a great story about his practice project at ASTRON. He described how he, with ASTRON’s help and together with Harm Munk, Paul Boven and other CAMRAS-people constructed an instruction manual on radio-astronomy for a profile piece of work for HAVO/VWO (secondary education:  Highschool/College) students.

Om vergelijkbare antenne meetdata te hebben, is het gebruikelijk om de metingen in het zogenaamde verre veld te doen. Hoe ver is dat nu voor een paraboolantenne? Als de afstand erder is dan de zogeheten Rayleigh afstand, dan zijn de verre veld benaderingen toepasbaar. Timo Lampe (PE1FOD) heeft deze afstanden op een rijtje gezet voor een 25 meter schotel en een 3 meter schotelt.
