I work here as an electronics engineer and am in charge of the computers, network, and communications. I work for a German company that provides IT solutions to scientific operations. I first worked at Neumayer station from December 2002 to January 2004. When the construction works for the new station, "Neumayer III", began, I returned to the continent from December 2007 to March 2008. The new station where I live and work now was officially opened on February 20, 2009, and my current assignment is from December 2008 to February 2010. It is a long time, as I have my wife (DH3FBS) and two little kids (boy, 4, and girl, 2) at home in Germany, but it also is a fascinating and challenging job. I have a few non-amateur radio related pictures on the web:

Our wintering team consists of nine people. We are on our own from March 2009 to November 2009. During summer, there are up to 60 people working at the base. Most of them travel here via Cape Town and Novolazarevskaya (Russian station) by plane.
