Tales across the fence

In the summer practically every Sunday between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs the CAMRAS volunteers are present at the Radiotelescope to inform the passing public about rhe past, present and future of this unique radio-telescope.

Activity-days

Every last Sunday of the month we organise a day full of activities on various subjects. Consult the agenda.

General repairwork

Volunteers regularly perform repair-work on the radiotelescope and the equipment belonging to it. This often occurs in and around the radiotelescope. No fixed times or days.

Tours

Open days

On ASTRON open days (in October) the Dwingeloo Radiotelescope will be open to the public. Consult the agenda.

From the first fine days in spring through autumn we from CAMRAS try to be at the Dwingeloo telescope every Sunday. Those interested can then listen in to a so-called “hek-vertelling” (A Tale across/at the fence), in which we relate an enthused story on the Dwingeloo telescope and CAMRAS work. Simon Bijlsma, one of our keen volunteers, who on Sundays can be found in and around the telescope on a regular basis, describes his experience
