At the Dwingelo Telescope during EME activities we regularly get visitors. During our latest EME day we were visited by Bruce, PY2BS, and previous to that occasion we had Micael DL1YMK and Monica. August 7th we had another unannounced visitor. His name is Murphy ☺

Because of a 2 m EME contest on 7 and 8 August we had planned to use the Saturday-morning to have a quick go at mounting the 2m antennas. Eene and I would pop over to Dwingelo for an extra hour to prepare everything beforehand and the minute the rest of the crew arrived we would all take ourselves up in the lift and finish the job. However: everything was prepared and ready to go, Eene and Fred were in the lift, Johan, Ton, Theo and I stood waiting in happy anticipation, Fred pushed the button and… nothing stirred.

Saturday June 12th we had another day of EME activity at the Dwingeloo telescope. Although the position of the sun was pretty near that of the moon, we did try to do EME. The DT’s beam is that sharp that on 23 cm this shouldn’t present any problems. On 70 cm we expected to hear some more noise. This turned out to be exactly right!

On May 22nd the DT once again was active by way of the moon. This time two more milestones were scored: the 10th “first” was achieved and meanwhile more than 1.000 contacts were made. Jan van Muijlwijk reports:

During the weekend of 22/23 May two EME radio contests had been organised on23cm. Consequently sufficient activity was to be expected. Moreover the wellknown German EME-couple Michael and Monika were in Kaliningrad with their collapsible 4m dish. The umpteenth exotic country they activated by way of the moon. Many EMR-ers were active if only to catch them, for it had never been possible to hear Kaliningrad via the moon.
