Thursday 22 April around 30 girls from the Dwingeloo area were guests at ASTRON. Among the four subjects the girls were introduced to was the Dwingeloo telescope.

As part of October Children’s month (www.oktobermaandkindermaand.nl) and October Knowledge-month (www.oktoberkennismaand.nl) ASTRON (www.astron.nl), CAMRAS (www.camras.nl), Planetron Cinedome (www.planetron.nl) and JIVE (www.jive.nl) jointly organise the ‘Sterrendag Dwingeloo’ (Starday Dwingeloo). An informative day for young and old on (radio)astronomy with a number of tours, lectures and planetarium performances, both at Planetarium Cinedome and at the ASTRON/CAMRAS site, the place of the well known Radio-telescope of Dwingeloo. At the same time in the exposition-room of Planetron Cinedome ASTRON will give information on the world”s biggest telescope LOFAR.
