Restoration film
During the restoration of the Dwingeloo Radio Telescope in the period 2012-2014, Jan Klaassens, Hilko Hof and Arie Burggraaf of amateur videoclub Spotlight in Hoogeveen recorded the entire restoration on film for ASTRON and CAMRAS. In 2016 the restoration film premiered and the film material was published on DVD. Now that this DVD is almost sold out, the film material can also be viewed via the CAMRAS website.
On web page About the radio telescope / Restoration are the trailer (3 minutes) and the documentary (22 minutes). The documentary also includes interviews (in Dutch) with people involved in the restoration.
On page About the radio telescope / Restoration / At a glance is the reportage (32 minutes). The reportage shows almost all steps of the restoration process in more or less chronological order. The interviews have been omitted in the reportage. The different steps of the restoration process can also be seen on this page as separate clips in length ranging from a half minute to a maximum of three minutes. (Audible language at the workplace is Dutch).
The film ‘The construction of a radio telescope’ by Herman Kleibrink from 1957 (29 minutes) (in Dutch) is on page About the radio telescope / Design and build.
